The Day of the Great Pancake Race

On Your Marks, Get Set, Go...... In the name of Fair Trade. And we have to say it was a moral victory for Paul Rowley, who turned up with the smallest pan. Unfortunately it did not win him the race or the trophy though.
The award for the Fyldes Best (Pancake) Tosser this year went to Paul Curran, Head Chef of the Bedford Hotel. Seen Below with BBC Radio Lancashire, Well done Paul.
Although the event was a bit of fun it did highlight a serious issue, and it was great to see so many business turning out to get behind the innitiative.
The next event, is a Fair Trade Food and Wine Tasting hosted at The Lindum Hotel, with a flower demonstration from the wonderful Flower Design. The event costs £5.00, starting at 7pm and the tickets are available from the Town Hall

Rowley's Catering Join The Race for Fair Trade Food

Today saw the Pre Race photo shoot for the Fylde Bourgh Council Fair Trade Food Initiative. The campaign, part of The Fair Trade Awareness Week, which has been spearheaded by Christine Miller of The Local Strategic Partnership, saw local businesses gather today, along with the Mayor To Promote more Fair Trade Food In The Fylde.
The Hotel and Rowleys Catering, have now subscribed to fair trade food and we are in the process of adding items to our stock lists. To add to this a selection of Fair Trade Tea, Coffee and Biscuits will also be on sale for our guests to purchase
Tomorrow, there will be a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Tossing Race. Held on the Promenade from St Annes Pier and 11am. Primarily a bit of fun, it also highlights an important message and many local businesses commitment to providing a better standard of living for many in developing countries.

Sneak Preview of The New Rowleyscatering.co.uk

Yes, we are ten years old now. So to celebrate we are launching a new look website. As we have noticed the phrase 'Shifting Trends' is a phrase commonly used in the nightlife sector but we believe this applies to all walks of business. Out with the old, in with the new. The new website is Fresh, Vibrant and really gives an accurate impression to how Rowley's catering operates.
Our Modern, Contemporary outlook is combined with renowned professionalism and quality and the new site screams all of these factors.
Our web designers headed by the legendary Ian Richardson of IWI Design, one of the North Wests best have really gone to town and produced a site we can be proud of.
We are really looking forward to the official launch which we are hoping will be very soon. We will keep you posted

Everyone Goes Nuts, Over Phil's Walnut Bread

We don't think we need to tell the people of Lytham St Annes how good Phil's Bakery is, however when the Master Baker himself calls you, to say his Walnut Bread sales have gone through the roof thanks to one of your own recipes, you have to boast about it !

Pictured Below, Paul Rowley with Phil

We got the call of Phil after one of Pauls recipes was seen by many in Life Magazine (The Saturday supplement in The Evening Gazette) The Mushroom Crostini recipe was one of many of Phils products which feature in our menu's

Keep up the good work Phil, It is great to have a local bakery which has such fine products.

Another Successful Afternoon Tea

Friday saw the second of our afternoon tea events at the wonderful Lytham Hall. And once again all enjoyed. Jane was magnificent with the decor and all the guests were more than impressed with her ever impressive design skills.

The Food as always was top notch. Okay so I work for Rowleys so you will probably say I am biased, but hey, when you know a good thing you sell it. And we even had time to play about with the camera a little and produce some arty shots. The talented Mr Paul Rowley below, not just good at producing the best food on the Fylde, he also does a great motion blur !

All our guests were once again seated in the Gold Room. Could you get a more wonderful setting to host an event. I don't think so

A Roaring fire, Champagne and Dainty Desserts, what could be better

From Every Angle It Looks Good

Traditional Afternoon Tea's At Lytham Hall

There were four elements we needed to make today work

Fantastic Food
Beautiful Flowers
And Elegant Ladies
And We Got Them All

The first of our Ladies Afternoon Tea's At Lytham Hall Today was a Huge Success. As 2pm approached the first of our guests started to arrive. The fire was lit and the bar was charged with champagne.

Once everyone had arrived the first treat in store was a flower demonstration from the wonderful Jane of Flower Design (seen below enjoying our cakes), followed by a the savoury food with Tea and Coffee from Rowley's.

Team Rowley's had surpassed themselves with individual dinner sets for each table. And savoury treats ranging from Dainty Sandwiches, Tortilla Wraps, Miniature Tartlets and Lytham Shrimp Vol Au Vents.

The second demonstration from Jane, was a fantastic arrangement of flower themed cupcakes which were presented on a three tiered tray.

This led on perfectly to the desserts. Again presented on 3 tier trays they consisted of Individual Banoffi and Chocolate Tartlets, Victoria Sponges, Vanilla Tarts, Profiteroles and Baby Scones.

To Finish was another demonstration from Jane. All of the wonderful displays were then raffled off to collect money for Trinity Hospice.

Rowley's would like to Thank all of you who have supported the event and hope you all and a wonderful afternoon.

After the success of the February Afternoon Teas, we hope to make them a Bi monthly event.
